Are Sandals Resorts Food Really Good? Honest Dining Review + Best Resort for Foodies
Yes. Sandals Resorts food quality has improved significantly, and today it’s one of the biggest reasons people book. From our firsthand experience, Sandals St. Vincent now ranks #1 for food, followed by Barbados, Grenada, Dunn’s River, and Beaches Turks and Caicos.
What Is the Food Like at Sandals & Beaches Resorts?
Dining at Sandals Resorts is not what most people expect from an all-inclusive.
You’re not stuck with buffets. You’re choosing between multiple restaurants every night, with everything from sushi to steakhouse to Caribbean specialties.
Our Honest Sandals Food Reviews
(What’s Actually Changed)
This is where things have really improved.
We’ve personally seen a massive increase in food quality at Beaches Turks & Caicos over the past few years. The consistency, flavors, and presentation are all better than they used to be.
And at Sandals, especially the newer and updated resorts, the food is no longer just “good for an all-inclusive.” It’s genuinely something you look forward to every night.
Best Sandals Resorts for Foodies (Ranked)
Based on real experience, here’s how we rank them:
- Sandals St. Vincent – Top ranked for overall dining quality
- Sandals Barbados & Royal Barbados
- Sandals Grenada
- Sandals Dunn’s River
- Beaches Turks & Caicos
This is the best overall food experience we’ve had.
Dinner at Scrimshaw stood out immediately. We had the surf and turf with filet and lobster, and the lobster was grilled and seasoned perfectly. It was one of those meals you think about after you leave.
We actually loved it so much, we went back 3 out of the 7 nights.
Butch’s Steakhouse was just as strong. Ribeye, lamb chops, everything cooked exactly right.
Lunch became a routine at Imoro. The quinoa bowl with all the toppings was honestly one of the best lunches we’ve had at any resort. We ended up getting two bowls almost every day.
Breakfast was consistent and easy, and the fresh squeezed orange juice and smoothies made it feel elevated without trying too hard.
This is where variety really shines. If you want higher end accommodations, choose Royal Barbados. However, if you are making the decision based off restaurants you can’t go wrong with either one, as you can eat at them all.
You’re essentially getting two resorts in one, which means more restaurants, more flexibility, and more chances to find favorites.
Breakfast was simple but solid. There is a fresh juice bar, Heart & Sol, available to start our morning off strong.
Lunch was locked in for us. We kept going back for a double order of jerk chicken, which we honestly rank as some of the best jerk chicken in the Caribbean, right up there with Turks and Caicos.
Dinner was usually at one of the two Butch’s Steakhouse locations. Ribeye with lobster on the side became the go-to.
Do You Need Reservations at Sandals Restaurants?
Only a few, like Butch’s Steakhouse, require reservations. Most Restaurants are walk in. If you’re staying in a Butler or Concierge-level room, they’ll take care of everything for you.
