Why Are the New Beaches Resorts Moving Faster Now?
Here’s the honest answer to “what’s taking so long?” After the hurricanes in Jamaica, Sandals put its money into rebuilding the resorts its guests already love before breaking ground on anything new. It has also been investing heavily in existing favorites, like the new Treasure Beach addition at Beaches Turks & Caicos.
That’s about to change. Royal Caribbean Group bought a 50% stake in Sandals and Beaches, and a big reason for the deal is funding for exactly these new resorts. Sandals told us directly that nothing is expected to change for guests for at least a year. Existing reservations are safe and the brand is protected.

Why Beaches Exuma Is Generating So Much Excitement
Beaches Exuma is the first new Beaches Resort we have seen in a very long time. This resort will replace a classic and fan favorite Sandals Emerald Bay. The location, crystal clear waters, and famous excursions such as swim with the pigs, boating, snorkleing create an already enormous brand. This is the next best all-inclusive luxury family destination.
If your family has been waiting for the next Beaches Resort, Beaches Exuma should be at the top of your list.
The transformation of the former Sandals Emerald Bay into Beaches Exuma is currently the furthest along, with reservations expected to open in the coming months and the first guest arrivals currently targeted for early 2028.
Because this will be the first completely new Beaches Resort available to book, we expect demand to be extremely high, especially for larger family suites, concierge accommodations, and premium room categories.

Beaches Resorts has officially announced Beaches Runaway Bay, bringing another family-friendly resort to Jamaica’s north coast. It was named again in the September 2026 Royal Caribbean and Sandals partnership announcement.
Why hasn’t it moved faster? After the hurricanes in Jamaica, Sandals chose to rebuild the resorts guests already love first. With the new partnership funding, we expect things to pick up.
Reservations haven’t been announced yet, and we currently expect the resort to open after Beaches Barbados. We’ll keep updating this page as room categories, amenities, and booking dates are released.
It’s official. Beaches St. Vincent is coming. In September 2026, the Royal Caribbean and Sandals partnership announcement named Saint Vincent and the Grenadines as one of four new Beaches Resorts, alongside Exuma, Barbados, and Runaway Bay.

Beaches St. Kitts: Confirmed by Our Sandals Contacts
You heard it here first. Our contacts at Sandals have confirmed that a Beaches Resort is coming to St. Kitts. It hasn’t been publicly announced yet, but after 32 years as one of the top Sandals & Beaches agencies in the world, this is the kind of news we hear before most people do.
Here’s what’s public: in February 2026, Sandals Executive Chairman Adam Stewart and a senior Sandals and Beaches team met with St. Kitts Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew about bringing a resort to the island. With the Royal Caribbean partnership now funding new builds, St. Kitts is moving from talks to plans.
There’s no official site, opening date, or reservation timeline yet. Expect it to be one of the later openings. If St. Kitts is on your family’s wish list, join the waitlist now. We’ll let you know the moment it’s official.
